I am the Mom of a Kindergartener....

Oh my, my only child started Kindergarten on Tuesday of this week... what an experience that was!
I held myself together all weekend knowing what was to come, preparing myself to cry like a baby when he stepped up on to the school bus.

Tuesday morning rolled around and it was the very first day of school :)
Tom stayed home from work to go in late so he could watch Tommy get on the bus and to help him get ready for his first day of school. We went in to his room at 6am sharp and woke him up together. He sprung right up and was excited to get going. I got him some oatmeal for breakfast (one of his all time favorite breakfast meals) and some Strawberry Sunny D. He gobbled it up and came in to the bathroom to get dressed and to brush his teeth.

While he was busy getting dressed in the bathroom with Dad's assisstance, I was busy in the kitchen. Sine he insisted on not eating school lunch the first day, he asked to have spaghettios for lunch... nothing like giving Mom a challenge her first day, LOL! I got out his newly acquired hot food jar and heated it up to get ready to put the heated up spaghettios in. Got those all together and his snack and we were ready to head out the door :)

Of course it couldn't be sunny for his first day, so he had to dress in rubber boots and a rain jacket to wait for the bus, LOL! But he was so excited and nervous at the same time. We tok pictures and my MIL who lives next door had come out to watch him get on the bus too. It was a family affair :) I promise to post pictures tomorrow as I have been so incredibly busy all week, that I have had no time to upload anything, LOL!

He had a great first day and talked and talked and talked all about it! The very first thing he said to me though was "Mom, we had three recesses today! It was AWESOME!!!" and, "I loved Gym, that guy who does it is funny".

He was tuckered out and ready for bed by 7:30 and we had him in bed by 8:15, carrying him up because he had zonked right out when he cuddled with Daddy for a short time :)

I still can't get over that he is in Kindergarten already... time sure does fly by :)
